Somewhere between bread and breakfast, the menu has a category called Dog Cakes. It has two items in it. One of them is an eight-inch bone-shaped cake. People ask whether it is a typo. It is not.
Why a bakery bothers
Because a dog birthday is a real occasion in a real household, and the alternative is a human cake that the dog should not be eating. Two lines on a menu is a small price for not having that conversation at the counter.
It is on the same menus as everything else
The category appears on both the dine-in and the to-go menu, which is to say you can order one the same way you order anything else here — at the counter, or online, ahead of time.
